Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, execution, and analysis of molecular biology experiments to support breeding programs for rice, maize, vegetables and other crops
- Conduct genetic diversity analysis, genetic purity tests, marker-trait association studies, and selecting or developing molecular markers for desirable traits
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, genotyping, and other molecular techniques
- Oversee the daily operations of the molecular biology laboratory, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules
- Maintain inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment, initiating procurement requests as needed
- Supervise and mentor junior research associates, technicians, and interns
- Manage new staff training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and data analysis
- Prepare regular progress reports and summaries for stakeholders
- Ensure the safety of team members and promote safeguarding policy issues
