Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Technician in fabricating orthotic and prosthetic appliances for patients
- Take patient casts and perform modifications under supervision to prepare appropriate devices
- Set alignment for initial trial fittings and implement necessary adjustments
- Perform final finishing of appliances after corrections
- Provide patients with clear guidelines for the use and maintenance of appliances
- Maintain and properly operate all machinery and tools used in the workshop
- Ensure the cleanliness of the workplace
- Minimize material wastage and promote efficient use of resources
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality of products

Job Description
BRAC, one of the largest non-governmental development organizations in the world, is seeking an Assistant Technician, Prosthetic and Orthotic to support the BRAC Health Programme. This role is crucial for ensuring that individuals in need receive the necessary care and rehabilitation following tragic circumstances. Your hands-on technical assistance will make a significant difference in the lives of injured individuals, enabling them to regain mobility and independence. The Assistant Technician will assist the Senior Technician in the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and used correctly while providing guidance to patients on how to care for their appliances. Assist the Senior Technician in the fabrication of orthotics and prosthetic appliances for patients. Take patient casts and perform modifications under supervision to prepare for device production. Set alignment for initial trial fittings and implement necessary adjustments. Perform final finishing of appliances post-adjustments. Educate patients on the use and maintenance of their appliances. Maintain workshop cleanliness and proper operation of all machinery. Minimize waste and promote efficient resource use. Support continuous improvement efforts in product quality. Safeguarding Responsibilities: Ensure the safety and protection of program participants and colleagues. Promote and implement safeguarding policies among team members. Follow safeguarding reporting procedures for any incidents. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Education: HSC or equivalent. Training: Basic training or diploma in Orthotics & Prosthetics or related field. Experience: Hands-on experience in workshop practices is preferred. Skills: Strong communication, flexibility, teamwork, time management, and the ability to work under pressure. This is a contractual position based in Dhaka, and the salary is Negotiable.
