Job Description
Overview: Terre des hommes is seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Protection Assistant (MHPSS) to join our team in Ukhiya. This role is vital for providing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to children, adolescents, and caregivers in vulnerable communities. Working closely with our Child Protection Officers, this position will ensure the delivery of age-appropriate PSS activities to foster resilience among children and youth.Implement MHPSS activities including structured programs like Khushir Khorak and Youcreate.Facilitate outreach to identify vulnerable children and adolescents, focusing on inclusivity for those with disabilities.Contribute to community needs assessments through participatory methods.Maintain documentation for PSS activities including registration, consent, and referrals.Communicate regularly with the line manager about project updates and everyday activities.Ensure the preservation of project materials and manage storage for supplies.Conduct feedback collection from beneficiaries to improve program implementation.Supervise and mentor volunteers in the community.Family Strengthening Support:Conduct effective parenting sessions as part of Tdh's approach.Facilitate identification for further support services for participants.Engage community outreach efforts to involve vulnerable children and their caregivers in CP activities.Coordination and Representation:Build positive relationships with community members, beneficiaries, and local authorities.Participate in local forums and maintain collaboration across teams for smooth operations.Child Protection and Safeguarding:Promote inclusive access to services for all children, ensuring special attention to the vulnerable.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Tdh's safeguarding policies at all times.Qualifications:Applicants should possess a university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, with at least 1-year experience in an NGO setting.
