Job Description
Background of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and the Project: Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a prominent National NGO in Bangladesh, established in 1972. Our mission focuses on the notion that 'the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country' and that 'the development of the country is inherently linked to the development of women.' With a robust network comprising 43 health centers across 19 districts, two hospitals, and multiple educational institutions including a university and various training schools, GK has made significant strides in the healthcare sector. We are proud to run the largest dialysis center in Bangladesh, an endeavor that showcases our commitment to health and humanitarian efforts. Recognized with numerous national and international awards, GK continues to forge partnerships and implement impactful projects, including one with Malteser International aimed at improving health and nutrition among refugees in Cox's Bazar. The CHW Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing community health workers (CHWs) and ensuring the effective implementation of health initiatives. Conduct daily supervision visits with CHWs to support and evaluate community health activities. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve CHW performance. Ensure timely implementation of community-based activities. Foster partnerships with local health facilities. Oversee the quality of reports and data submissions by CHWs. Plan and organize training sessions for CHWs. Monitor nutritional activities in collaboration with the Clinic Manager. Maintain proper record-keeping of all health activities and materials. Assist in recruiting new CHWs in partnership with relevant managers. Promote community welfare through outreach and engagement activities. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. At least 3 years of experience in a related field, particularly within the NGO sector. Ability to communicate effectively and manage time efficiently. Languages: Proficiency in Bangla and Chittagonian required; knowledge of English is a plus. Valid Motorcycle license is mandatory. Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage stress and work in challenging environments. Cultural awareness and empathy toward the target population. Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to undertake various tasks.
