Job Responsibilities
- Develop designs for wooden furniture, fixtures, and structural components.
- Prepare technical drawings and blueprints using CAD/CAM software.
- Select appropriate wood materials based on strength, durability, and aesthetics.
- Supervise the wood processing, cutting, shaping, and assembling processes.
- Operate and maintain woodworking machinery like saws, lathes, and CNC machines.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects and compliance with standards.
- Conduct tests for strength, durability, and finish of wooden products.
- Implement corrective actions to reduce material wastage and improve product quality.
- Choose suitable timber, veneers, laminates, and other wood-based materials.
- Monitor inventory of wood materials and hardware components.
- Optimize material usage to reduce cost and waste.
- Suggest improvements in production techniques to increase efficiency.
- Implement sustainable and eco-friendly woodworking practices.
- Research and adopt new tools, machinery, and woodworking technologies.
- Ensure workplace safety by following standard procedures.
