Job Responsibilities
- Fabric development for knit, woven, and denim categories
- Evaluate and test fabrics for GSM, shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, tensile strength, tearing strength, etc.
- Price negotiation with mills and suppliers
- Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and shade bands
- Share color matching comments with respective mills
- Provide technical expertise in knit, woven, and denim fabrics
- Plan and monitor TNA (Time and Action) and lead times
- Bulk fabric follow-up from the development to shipment stage
- Daily communication with Bangladesh mills for production updates
- Daily communication with India team for approvals and coordination
- Coordinate with inspection agencies for fabric inspections
- Maintain compliance with buyer standards and international quality norms
- Maintain records of fabric developments, approvals, test reports, and inspections
- Liaise with suppliers, merchandisers, and production teams to resolve issues

Job Description
Are you an adept Fabric Technologist with a passion for knit, woven, and denim categories? NORP Knit Industries Limited is on the lookout for a proactive individual to enhance our fabric development process. As a Fabric Technologist, you will be at the forefront of fabric testing and development. Your responsibilities will include: Fabric development for knit, woven, and denim categories. Evaluate and test fabrics for GSM, shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, tensile strength, tearing strength, etc. Price negotiation with mills and suppliers. Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and shade bands. Share color matching comments with respective mills. Provide technical expertise in knit, woven, and denim fabrics. Liaise with suppliers, merchandisers, and production teams to resolve issues. We require candidates to have strong knowledge of fabric testing standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, BS) and to possess excellent negotiation and communication skills. You should be capable of working under tight deadlines while keeping quality standards high. A minimum of 12 years of experience in fabric development, sourcing, or technical roles in the textile or garment industry is desired. Education Requirements: Strong understanding of knit, woven, and denim fabrics, including development and finishing techniques. Knowledge of payment terms, LC processes, and supply chain timelines. 8 years of relevant experience in a similar field.
