Job Responsibilities
- Develop project ideas and prepare project proposals, including budgets and timelines
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities from national and international grant bodies
- Write grant applications that effectively communicate the project’s objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes
- Prepare and edit reports, documents, and presentations related to project development and funding
- Monitor funded projects to ensure they are being implemented according to plan and that the allocated budget is utilized within the terms of the awarded grant
- Maintain regular communication with grant stakeholders, including donors, partners, and project teams, ensuring timely updates and transparent reporting
- Maintain records of funding applications, deadlines, and progress
- Work closely with internal teams to provide guidance on grant management and support the development of team capacity in grant proposal development and project execution
- Communicate on behalf of the SIMEC Foundation & SIMEC Institute of Technology
Required Skills
- Proven experience in proposal development
- Strong understanding of funding sources
- Experience in budget preparation and quantitative research
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Kobo Toolbox, Python, NVivo)

Job Context: The Grant Officer (Research) will play an important role in securing research and project grants for SIMEC Foundation and SIMEC Institute of Technology. This position requires strategic planning, writing, bidding for national and international grants, and ensuring the successful implementation of funded projects.Job Responsibilities:Develop project ideas and prepare project proposals, including budgets and timelinesResearch and identify potential funding opportunities from national and international grant bodiesWrite grant applications that effectively communicate the project’s objectives, methodology, and expected outcomesPrepare and edit reports, documents, and presentations related to project development and fundingMonitor funded projects to ensure they are being implemented according to plan and that the allocated budget is utilized within the terms of the awarded grantThe position operates under a target-based contract, requiring a strong focus on securing grant awards and meeting project goalsMaintain regular communication with grant stakeholders, including donors, partners, and project teams, ensuring timely updates and transparent reportingMaintain records of funding applications, deadlines, and progress and ensure all grant-funded projects comply with financial, legal, and operational guidelines, conducting audits when necessaryWork closely with internal teams to provide guidance on grant management and support the development of team capacity in grant proposal development and project executionCommunicating on behalf of the SIMEC Foundation & SIMEC Institute of TechnologyJob Requirements:Age: At least 28 yearsEducation: MastersExperience: 2-3 years of work experience in a relevant field (NGO, INGO, Research Organizations, Think Tanks and Other Development Organizations) with proven experience of securing national and international grants.Skills: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite plus familiarity with academic publishing platforms.Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.Ability to communicate and liaise with funding bodies.This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant initiatives while working at a renowned institution in Bangladesh.
