Job Responsibilities
- Ensure care & maintenance of all the lab instruments & equipment.
- Carrying out regular & emergency lab procedures.
- Ensure availability of all related reagents & logistics of the laboratory, ensure proper storage and usage of equipment & consumables.
- Review stock & initiate requisition for laboratory activities.
- Documentation of all lab activities.
- Keep service records and prepare monthly reports.
- Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Attend all training and ensure knowledge dissemination to assistants.
- Ensuring collection, processing, and handling of all biological specimens according to IPCD.
- Counsel the patients on the sample collection process.
- Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
Required Skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

Carry out regular and emergency lab procedures. Ensure availability of reagents and logistics, and maintain proper storage and usage of lab materials. Review stock and initiate requisition for laboratory activities. Document all lab activities meticulously. Prepare monthly reports and keep service records. Adhere to infection-control protocols to protect patients and technicians. Attend training sessions and ensure knowledge dissemination. Collect, process, and handle biological specimens safely. Conduct blood tests and adhere to principles of asepsis. Support scientific investigations and perform clinical laboratory tests. Develop and maintain cell/tissue cultures and ensure valid test results. Conduct quality control and calibration on testing systems and instruments. Maintain records and reports per established procedures. Foster a safe and communicative working environment. Supervise staff and handle resource management. Qualifications: Diploma in Medical Technology from a government-recognized institution (prioritized if accredited by the State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh). 2-3 years experience in a pathological laboratory, preferably in a healthcare facility or NGO. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive under pressure in challenging environments.
