Job Description
Join Mondiaal FNV: We are seeking a passionate Local Advocacy Advisor to support our research and advocacy efforts in Bangladesh under the EU funded project, ‘Decent Work Due Diligence Bangladesh’. In this role, you will collaborate with local trade unions and other stakeholders to ensure that human rights and decent work conditions are upheld in the garment, leather, and footwear sectors. Develop and lead advocacy capacity building workshops focused on labour rights. Formulate impactful advocacy messages tailored for various stakeholders. Provide practical guidance to partners in their advocacy efforts. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among trade unions, employers’ associations, and other key stakeholders. Support project implementation and follow-up on policy recommendations. About You: You have a strong background in lobby and advocacy with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Exceptional command of written and spoken English and Bangla. You are an analytical thinker with excellent public speaking and networking abilities. A good understanding of political structures and policy procedures in Bangladesh is essential. Background in international relations, politics, law, CSR, or the RMG sector is a plus. Contract Details: This position is part-time, requiring approximately 2 days per week. The initial contract is for one year, with potential for extension based on project duration till February 2029. Compensation: Mondiaal FNV offers a competitive fee based on consultancy regulations and an engaging work environment with enthusiastic colleagues.
