Job Description
Position Overview:The Program Officer of Girls’ Education and Gender Equality Portfolio (GEP) will be responsible for providing technical support in carrying out all activities of Room to Read’s Girls’ Education program. This includes support to the Manager in Program Management, Contextualization, facilitating training for Social Mobilizers on program content and delivery, and providing technical guidance to ensure Social Mobilizers conduct activities in line with global program design.This position will require travel to all the working areas of Room to Read as well as regular interaction with education officials, partners, school administrators, teachers and students. This role demands expertise in life skill training, mentoring, networking, advocacy, and supervising. The Program Officer will report to the Program Manager, Girls’ Education and Gender Equality Portfolio.Job Responsibilities:Provide ongoing technical support in the implementation of programs.Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the program's effectiveness.Conduct regular assessments to ensure program goals are achieved.Facilitate training sessions and workshops for staff and program participants.Support program evaluation processes to assess impact and areas for improvement.Qualifications:Master’s degree required in a related field such as Education, Social Work, Gender & Women Study, or other relevant areas.A minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience with NGOs, INGOs or in the development sector.Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing program improvements that achieve results.Experience in training adults and adolescents effectively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Proven planning, supervision, and program development skills.Ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.Understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and process documentation.Willingness to travel frequently to program sites.If you are passionate about education and want to join a team striving for gender equality in education, we encourage you to apply now.
