Job Description
Uttaran, a leading national development organization in Bangladesh, is searching for a dedicated Project Officer for Livelihood and Agriculture to help implement the progressive Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) programme. Since its establishment in 1985, Uttaran has been instrumental in promoting the rights and improving the socio-economic conditions of the marginalized populations in the coastal regions of Bangladesh. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about agriculture and livelihood improvement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with HELVETAS Swiss Interco operation Bangladesh, enhancing the capacity of farmers and communities while addressing challenges posed by climate change. Job Responsibilities: Conduct agricultural and livelihood training workshops for beneficiaries and stakeholders. Create and manage agriculture demonstration projects, farms, and community gardens. Provide technical support for climate-resilient agricultural practices. Develop tailored training modules and facilitate capacity-building sessions, especially for women and youth. Establish networking opportunities between local producers and input suppliers. Prepare comprehensive MIS reports documenting project activities and achievements. Support reporting requirements across various departments. Maintain compliance with organizational policies and practices. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Social Science, Business Administration, or related disciplines. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the agriculture sector or NGOs. Strong understanding of agricultural technologies and climate-resilient practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and networking skills. Proven abilities in program planning, budgeting, staff management, and report writing. Familiarity with MS Office tools.
