Job Description
Join WaterAid Bangladesh as a Regional Technical Advisor - Climate Resilient WASH in our efforts to provide sustainable and climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) options in South Asia. This is a unique position that offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of communities affected by climate change.About the Role: As a Regional Technical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the implementation of WASH programs across Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. The position is contractual, spanning three years with the possibility of renewal. You will be expected to work 35 hours per week, with the location flexible between our offices in Dhaka, Kathmandu, or Islamabad, or remotely within the South & South-East Asia region.Your Responsibilities:Provide technical guidance, quality assurance, and support to country programs focused on sustainable WASH solutions.Implement capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of staff and stakeholders.Build strategic partnerships and foster knowledge sharing and advocacy around climate-resilient WASH.Assist in the integration of WASH measures within key national policies and planning frameworks.Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and safeguarding.Who You Are:Extensive experience in climate resilient WASH-related programs and policy advocacy.Familiarity with the WASH sector's interaction with systems such as climate change and health.Up-to-date knowledge of technologies and guidelines related to sustainable WASH.Experience working in South Asia, ideally in collaboration with WaterAid operational countries.Willingness to travel across the region and internationally as required.Although not essential, additional qualifications like a chartered membership in a professional association and experience in stakeholder engagement with government and donors would be advantageous.Compensation: The salary for this position will vary by location:Bangladesh: BDT 4,032,467 - 5,356,574 with excellent benefits.Nepal: NPR 4,428,304 - 5,632,539 with excellent benefits.Pakistan: PKR 9,540,888 - 15,153,840 with excellent benefits.For those located remotely in South Asia, a comparable salary will be offered.If you are passionate about climate resilience and sustainable solutions in WASH, we encourage you to apply.
