Job Responsibilities: As a Research Associate, your primary duties will include: Trial planning and implementation for breeding trials and related activities. Conducting routine tests and experiments under the guidance of your supervisor. Data collection, consolidation, and analysis using prescribed tools. Managing breeding collections and ensuring accurate records in the breeding database. Exploring new methodologies for improved trial outcomes and reporting findings. Communication and Reporting: You will also be responsible for: Submitting reports to your supervisor. Preparing trial and progress reports. Providing updates to stakeholders on breeding programs. Adhering to safety, health, and environmental procedures. Self-Development: Enhance your skills and knowledge in genetics, agronomy, and pathology by: Participating in trainings, seminars, and webinars. Staying updated on relevant agricultural practices. Other Responsibilities: Your role will also involve: Training technicians and workers in best practices. Setting performance targets for your team. Carrying out additional duties as required. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) in Crop Science, Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, or other related Biological Sciences. Basic knowledge of crop production and breeding. Experience is preferred but fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Understanding of statistics, experimental designs, and data analysis methods.
