Job Responsibilities

Job Description
Are you passionate about conducting research that addresses pressing societal issues? Join the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) as a Research Intern and immerse yourself in a nationwide research project that explores the evolving foreign policy priorities of Bangladesh in light of its recent LDC graduation, regional dynamics, and emphasis on dignity and equity. This internship presents a unique opportunity to engage in both desk reviews and field surveys across 24 districts with 5,000 citizens, along with a thorough stakeholder mapping exercise. In this role, you will assist our dedicated team with data collection, transcription, and basic data analysis, contributing to meaningful insights that influence policy and development. A. Research Support: Assist in field surveys, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) using digital tools (such as KoboToolbox and ODK). Support desk reviews, data entry, and literature scanning. Take detailed notes and transcribe interviews and discussions. B. Data and Analysis: Assist with data cleaning, coding, and entry. Conduct basic analysis in SPSS, STATA, Excel, or R under supervision. Help prepare charts, summaries, and preliminary findings. C. Field & Logistical Coordination: Support logistics for field visits, including communication with local stakeholders. Maintain field documentation and uphold research ethics and data quality standards. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Development Studies (MDS) in Development Studies Master of Social Science (MSS) in International Relations Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science Master of Social Science (MSS) in Economics Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics Additional Requirements: Age: 22 to 28 years (preferably under 30) Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural/remote areas Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla Strong understanding of research methods and stakeholder engagement.
