Job Description
About the Position: Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking to make a difference in the community? Friendship is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer-SED to lead the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems that benefit the environment and local communities.Job Responsibilities:Lead the installation and upkeep of solar grids, pumps, agro-processing units, aerators, biodigesters, and agro-voltaic systems.Diagnose faults and guide teams on system servicing and repairs to ensure optimal operation.Design and estimate solar solutions tailored to specific site needs, enhancing community reliance on renewable energy.Conduct training and mobilization workshops to promote solar adoption in communities.Manage inventory, warranty claims, and logistics for solar equipment effectively.Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation for project monitoring, donor updates, and internal reviews.Key Activities:Engage in community mobilization within remote areas and conduct sensitization programs.Ensure smooth operation of various solar power systems and provide solutions for maintenance.Articulate and implement new ideas related to renewable energy activities and system design.Conduct meetings, workshops, and training programs for effective knowledge transfer.Perform any other tasks assigned by Friendship Management.Required Skills and Competencies:Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic or related fields).Long and solid experience in solar power installation, servicing, and maintenance is valued over strict educational qualifications.Preference will be given to candidates with 5 years of experience in Solar Energy Program implementation.Candidates with Electrical B & C licenses will be prioritized.FRIENDSHIP is committed to safeguarding all stakeholders and is an equal opportunity employer.
