Job Description
Position Overview Jago Nari, a reputable non-governmental organization in Barguna, Bangladesh, is looking for a dedicated Union Facilitator to join our team. This role is integral to our project titled Community Action for Resilience & Early Triggers, which focuses on enhancing climate resilience in vulnerable communities. Our programs focus on Women’s Empowerment, Climate Change Adaptation, Health & Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Education. Job Responsibilities Project Implementation and Community Engagement: Participate actively in the execution of community-based risk assessments and ensure community involvement. Assist in capacity-building initiatives for community members, volunteers, and youth forums. Conduct data collection and awareness sessions at the community level. Communicate regularly with local authorities and support volunteer supervision. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Disseminate early warning messages to at-risk populations. Engage in union-level meetings to address gaps in existing systems. Community Action Plans: Develop localized action plans based on community risks and vulnerabilities. Assist in household assessments and action plans for disaster preparedness. Administrative Support: Organize meetings and document project activities. Gather feedback from stakeholders for program improvement. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in any discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in NGOs. Excellent communication skills in Bengali and local dialects. Understanding of gender equity and community mobilization. Ability to work remotely and in challenging environments. A strong commitment to the organization's mission and values.
