Education Requirements
At least Bachelor degree in Agriculture/ Agriculture Engineering with major in Irrigation/ Environmental Science or Social Science.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the overall process of watershed assessment and identification of micro-watersheds for restoration.
- Form Local Water Users Groups (LWUG) and Watershed Committees ensuring inclusivity.
- Support in developing micro watershed restoration designs in consultation with government.
- Conduct training on Climate Smart Agricultural (CSA) practices.
- Facilitate technical support to farmers for optimum water use and soil health.
- Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes.
- Engage with local stakeholders for effective project implementation.

Job Description
Uttaran is an NGO working in Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. Uttaran is a people-centred organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Water Cluster Officer for its project interventions in Bagerhat district, in partnership with Solidaridad Network Asia (SNA). This role is critical to the successful implementation of the SAFAL For Integrated Water Resource Management Project (SAFAL for IWRM) which aims to enhance sustainable use, protection, and restoration of Watersheds for resilient agriculture through operationalization of IWRM in the region.The Water Cluster Officer is the field team leader at the Upazila level, responsible for overall implementation of SAFAL For IWRM project activities.Lead the overall process of watershed assessment and identification of micro-watersheds for restoration.Form Local Water Users Groups (LWUG) and Watershed Committees ensuring inclusivity.Support in developing micro watershed restoration designs in consultation with government.Conduct training on Climate Smart Agricultural (CSA) practices.Facilitate technical support to farmers for optimum water use and soil health.Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes.Engage with local stakeholders for effective project implementation.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess:At least a Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or Social Science.A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the NGO sector.Strong decision-making ability and motivational skills.Effective communication skills and proficiency in computer literacy.Willingness to travel extensively across the country.Benefits:As a Water Cluster Officer, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits including:Monthly salary package of BDT 36,923 Tk. including all benefits.Conveyance, food allowance, mobile and additional benefits as per Uttaran Policy.Join us in our mission to empower and uplift communities in Bangladesh.
